Bengkulu, this morning, February 10th, 2026 — Universitas Bengkulu inaugurated six professors in a formal ceremony held this morning. Among them was Prof. Dr. Wisma Yunita, S.Pd., M.Pd., a lecturer of the Master’s Program in English Language Education (MPBIng), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), who was officially inaugurated as Professor in the field of English Language Teaching.
In her orasi ilmiah, Prof. Wisma Yunita addressed the theme of integrated grammar instruction, emphasizing the importance of teaching grammar in meaningful, contextualized, and communicative ways. She highlighted that grammar instruction should not be treated as an isolated component of language learning, but rather integrated with the teaching of language skills such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Prof. Wisma explained that integrated grammar instruction enables learners to understand grammatical forms through authentic language use, thereby improving both accuracy and communicative competence. She also underlined the role of teachers in designing instructional activities that connect grammatical knowledge with real communicative purposes, aligning grammar learning with learners’ needs and learning contexts.
The inauguration of Prof. Wisma Yunita as one of the six professors reflects Universitas Bengkulu’s strong commitment to academic excellence and innovation in teaching and research. For the Master’s Program in English Language Education, her professorship is expected to strengthen postgraduate instruction, research development, and scholarly discourse in English Language Teaching.
