Pagar Alam, November 18, 2025 — The Master’s Program in English Language Education (MPBIng), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Bengkulu, successfully carried out an academic outreach and socialization program at STKIP Muhammadiyah Pagar Alam. The activity aimed to introduce the vision, curriculum, academic facilities, admission procedures, and opportunities for postgraduate study to undergraduate students majoring in English Language Education.
The outreach was attended by 115 students from the Tadris Bahasa Inggris (TBI) Study Program. The event was officially opened by Joni, S.E., M.Si., Chairperson of STKIP Muhammadiyah Pagar Alam, who expressed appreciation for UNIB’s initiative and emphasized the importance of continuing education for future English language educators. Also present were the Vice Chairperson III, the Head of TBI Study Program, and lecturers of the English Education Department.
Representing Universitas Bengkulu, Dr. Iis Sujarwati, M.Pd., Coordinator of the Master’s Program in English Language Education (MPBIng), attended the event and delivered a speech. In her remarks, Dr. Iis highlighted the significance of postgraduate studies in enhancing pedagogical, research, and technological competencies for English teachers. She also expressed gratitude for the collaboration and underscored UNIB’s commitment to supporting academic development at partner institutions.
The MPBIng team presented comprehensive information about the program’s scientific vision, curriculum based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE), learning facilities, research opportunities, scholarship schemes, and pathways to academic advancement. Students participated enthusiastically, asking questions about career prospects, thesis supervision, scholarship availability, and the academic environment in postgraduate study.
Documentation from the event shows an engaging and warm atmosphere, with active interactions between students and the MPBIng team. The event concluded with a group photo session involving Dr. Iis Sujarwati, the leadership of STKIP, lecturers, and all participants, marking the strengthening of academic ties between the two institutions.
This outreach initiative not only provided valuable information for prospective graduate students but also opened further opportunities for collaboration in joint research, academic development, and professional capacity building between Universitas Bengkulu and STKIP Muhammadiyah Pagar Alam.
