Bengkulu, June 11, 2026 – The Coordinator of the Master’s Program in English Education, members of the Quality Assurance Group (GKM), and lecturers of the Master’s Program in English Education participated in a one-day Curriculum Review Workshop organized by the Institute for Learning Development and Quality Assurance (LPMPP) of the University of Bengkulu (UNIB) on Thursday, June 11, 2026.
The workshop brought together 265 participants representing all study programs at the University of Bengkulu, including program coordinators, quality assurance teams, and academic staff. The activity was conducted as part of UNIB’s commitment to continuously improving curriculum quality and ensuring alignment with national and international higher education standards.
The workshop featured Prof. Dr. Endri Boeriswati, M.Pd., a distinguished scholar from the Graduate School of Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), as the keynote speaker. In his presentation, Prof. Endri discussed the principles and implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), emphasizing the importance of designing curricula that focus on the achievement of learning outcomes, graduate competencies, and stakeholder expectations.
He highlighted the paradigm shift from traditional content-oriented curricula to student-centered and outcome-oriented curricula. According to Prof. Endri, an effective curriculum should ensure that graduates possess the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and competencies required to succeed in their professional and social lives.
Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in discussions on curriculum review strategies, the alignment of course learning outcomes with program learning outcomes, curriculum evaluation mechanisms, and continuous quality improvement processes. The sessions also emphasized the importance of evidence-based assessment and stakeholder involvement in curriculum development.
The participation of the Coordinator, GKM members, and lecturers of the Master’s Program in English Education reflects the program’s strong commitment to maintaining curriculum relevance and academic excellence. The workshop provided valuable insights that will support the ongoing curriculum review process and strengthen the implementation of Outcome-Based Education within the program.
Through this university-wide initiative, UNIB aims to ensure that all study programs develop curricula that are responsive to societal needs, aligned with graduate profiles, and capable of producing competent, globally competitive graduates who are prepared to face future challenges.
