Master’s Program in English Language Education Conducts OBE Curriculum Review and Revision

Bengkulu, 2 June 2026 – The Master’s Program in English Language Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Bengkulu, successfully conducted a Curriculum Review and Revision Workshop based on the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) framework on Tuesday, 2 June 2026. The activity took place at the International Room, 2nd Floor, Learning Laboratory Building, FKIP Universitas Bengkulu.

The workshop was attended by lecturers and curriculum development team members of the study program. The activity aimed to evaluate the implementation of the existing curriculum and formulate improvements to ensure its alignment with current educational policies, stakeholder expectations, accreditation standards, and global developments in English language education.

During the workshop, participants engaged in comprehensive discussions on several strategic aspects of curriculum development. The agenda included the evaluation of the implementation of the 2025 curriculum, review of graduate profiles and Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), mapping of courses to the Body of Knowledge (BoK), alignment between PLOs and Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs), strengthening of Outcome-Based Education principles, and enhancement of assessment practices.

The participants also discussed the integration of technology, research, and cultural perspectives into the curriculum to support the study program’s scientific vision. In addition, the workshop reviewed the structure of compulsory and elective courses, the distribution of learning outcomes across courses, and the adequacy of thesis-related components in supporting students’ academic and research competencies.

As an outcome of the workshop, several recommendations were agreed upon to improve curriculum coherence, strengthen graduate competencies, and ensure alignment with both national higher education regulations and international quality standards. These revisions are expected to enhance the program’s capacity to produce graduates who are competent, innovative, research-oriented, technologically literate, and capable of contributing to the advancement of English language education at national and international levels.

The curriculum review and revision workshop reflects the continuous commitment of the Master’s Program in English Language Education, FKIP Universitas Bengkulu, to maintaining academic quality and ensuring the relevance of its curriculum in addressing the challenges and opportunities of contemporary education.
