Bengkulu, March 10, 2025 – The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Universitas Bengkulu has issued a new circular letter emphasizing the enforcement of integrity values and the prevention of potential gratification in academic activities.
The circular, numbered 2088/UN30.7/EP/2025, outlines several key policies to maintain ethical academic practices. Among the directives, FKIP strictly prohibits providing refreshments during seminars, thesis defenses, or any activities related to students’ final assignments. Additionally, students are prohibited from offering gifts, flowers, or any form of appreciation to examiners during thesis defenses. Exceptions apply only in cases where gifts are part of a graduation ceremony without personal promotion elements. Another notable regulation is that off-campus graduation celebrations cannot use FKIP’s name and logo. Violations of these rules will result in disciplinary actions. Students risk having their seminar or thesis input revoked before the official graduation announcement, while lecturers may face a reduction of their SKP (work performance credit) score.
FKIP Universitas Bengkulu urges all students and faculty members to commit to ensuring transparent and fair academic services. The faculty also encourages the community to report academic or non-academic service irregularities through an official complaint channel: forms.gle/WTUAMXsro56YW3sGA.
With this new policy, FKIP Universitas Bengkulu reaffirms its commitment to fostering a culture of academic integrity, ensuring a transparent, fair, and professional educational environment.
